  • FACTS: There are More than 200,000 US cases per year for children with ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder), a significant number indicating a widespread challenge in our mental health system that requires increased awareness and support for affected families.
  • FACTS: ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder)is fairly common in children and teens, with about 1 in 6 children experiencing it at some point during their developmental years, leading to various challenges in emotional regulation and social interactions.
  • FACTS: Many children with ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder) often get in trouble with the law due to their behavior, which can lead to conflicts at school, at home, and in the community.


Signs of Oppositional Defiant Disorder
Symptoms generally begin before a child is eight years old. They include irritable mood, argumentative and defiant behavior, aggression, and vindictiveness that last more than six months and cause significant problems at home or school.
  • Aggressive behavior especially towards parent or authority figure, antisocial behavior, impulsivity, irritability, screaming, or self-harm
  • Anger or anxiety
  • Defiant, and hostile toward peers, parents, teachers, and other authority figures
  • Argue a lot with adults or refuse to do what they ask
  • Have frequent temper tantrums 
  • Refuse to obey rules
